Jordon Smith has posted one of his best rides of the 2025 SMX World Championship at the 10th stop of the 2025 AMA Pro Motocross Championship in Unadilla. The historic circuit provided the setting for a tempestuous day of 250MX action for the Triumph Factory Racing team.

Smith felt at one with his TF 250-X on Unadilla's harder soil – he started the first 250MX race on the verge of the top 15 but immediately made tremendous passes en route to the top five. The lap times that he recorded were on par with second and third, underlining his potential, but a small error near the end put him in eighth at the finish. The second moto was a mellower affair, as he raced to ninth after a mistake and was ranked in seventh overall. Smith runs ninth in the 250MX championship standings.

Austin Forkner struggled to unearth his recent form on the unique Unadilla layout, only managing 17th in moto one after a very poor start. The second moto was better – he started inside of the top 15 and held a position there. Securing 14th at the very end, he was eventually classified in 16th overall.

Mikkel Haarup saw his impressive run of results come to an end in Unadilla's first moto – a hard fall left him with a collarbone injury and therefore his day came to a premature end. Haarup's still sixth in 250MX despite scoring no points at the penultimate round.

Budds Creek, Maryland, will host the final round of the Pro Motocross season in seven days, providing Triumph's active riders with a chance to improve their seed ahead of the SMX World Championship postseason.

Jordon Smith

"It was a solid day, despite crashing once in each moto. I was trying to pass into sixth when I fell in moto one; it was late in the race. I was in a similar position when I made the mistake in moto two, but my riding was maybe the best that it has been all year. We made some positive improvements on the bike. There are a lot of positives to take from the day."

Austin Forkner

"I spun out of the gate in the first moto and did not get a great start. I just wasn't comfortable on the track in the first moto; it was different to what Unadilla typically is. I settled into a pace early and it was slow. The second moto was much better. I was pinched off heading into turn one but rode a lot better. It was just a tough day. It just didn't 'click' for me on this track, but we made some more progress with my TF 250-X."

Mikkel Haarup

"My day ended quite quickly. I had a good qualification and a decent start in moto one. I was just starting to flow when I connected with another rider – that caused me to fall and I suffered a collarbone injury. I hope to start the recovery process as soon as possible so I can be back on the bike!"

Steve Westfall – Team Manager, Triumph Factory Racing

"The day started well, but Mikkel suffered a collarbone injury in moto one. Jordon was solid and in the top 10 in both motos, despite two small falls. We just need to get Austin up front off the start, so there is plenty to work on this week. We will come out stronger at Budds Creek!"
