Monster Energy Triumph Factory Racing’s Camden McLellan has finished sixth overall at the MXGP of Finland. Competing at the brand-new KymiRing circuit, McLellan adapted quickly to the sandy track, finishing fifth and sixth across the two races. Guillem Farres was also in action, placing 10th overall.

Following a short break in the calendar, the team headed north for its first-ever Grand Prix in Finland. The weekend started well, with Camden placing seventh in the qualifying race and Farres finishing a strong third.

Following a series of passes through the opening laps of race one, McLellan quickly moved from 10th to fourth aboard his TF 250-X. With an eye on a top-three result, a costly error saw the 20-year-old fall from his machine. In the incident, Camden only lost one position and crossed the finish line in fifth.

Starting eighth in the second moto, McLellan moved up to sixth by mid-race. However, by that stage, the leading riders were out of reach. From there, Camden relied on his sand-riding skills to maintain a strong pace and secure sixth. Leaving Finland, McLellan remains seventh in the MX2 World Championship standings.

After his promising start in qualifying, Farres looked to carry that speed into the Grand Prix motos. Frustratingly, a mid-pack start in the opening race prevented him from reaching any higher than seventh by the finish. The second moto started with much more promise as Farres held fourth through the early stages. However, two crashes on lap seven put an end to his push for a top-five result, with the Spaniard ultimately crossing the line in 12th for 10th overall. With the points earned, Farres moves up to 10th in the series, with seven rounds to go.

With the challenging Grand Prix of Finland now complete, the team will now turn its attention to the MXGP of Czech Republic. Taking place at the hardpack circuit of Loket, the event marks round 14 of the 2025 MX2 World Championship.

Camden McLellan

“Tough weekend. It was a hot one, with two long motos around a really rough track. Two mediocre starts and fighting through the pack. I gave it everything I had all weekend, and a small crash in race one didn’t help things in that one. Then my start in the second race wasn’t the best so it was another tough one. Now it’s on to the next GP in the Czech Republic.”

Guillem Farres

“It was a new track for everyone this weekend, and it’s nice to head to new places to race. The weekend started well with third in the qualifying race, but then in the first moto, I didn’t get the best of starts and finished seventh. Then, in the second race I was running sixth for a while and then crashed twice on the same lap. It’s unfortunate to end the weekend like this, but we’ll keep working and be ready for Loket in two weeks.”

Vincent Bereni – Monster Energy Triumph Factory Racing Team Manager

“It’s nice to visit new venues, and it was the first GP in Finland for the team. The track here was a really tough one. In places, it was fast, then other places it was really slow, and it was really bumpy everywhere so bike set-up was tricky. But the team did a great job to get both riders comfortable. It was a shame that they both had small crashes as the results may have been a lot different, but that’s how racing goes sometimes. We now head back to the hardpack in the Czech Republic, but before then, we’ll keep working to make sure we can be fighting for the podium again.”
